Association Compliance with the FHA

The Course is specifically designed to educate community association managers on the law impacting association rule and policy making regarding criminal background checks and retaliation prohibition. This subject area is related to the management and administration of community associations, and is intended to satisfy subsection 61E14-4.001(3)(e) of the Florida Administrative Code. The course will consist of two sections: FHA Liability for the Use of Criminal Background Checks to Prevent Sale or Lease (60 minutes), Liability for Retaliation & Hostile Environment Harassment (60 minutes). The course will cover two hours of continuing education requirements. This course is also offered as a four-hour course (combined with Part 2)

Association Compliance with the FHA

The Course is specifically designed to educate community association managers on the law impacting association rule and policy making regarding requests for accommodations for assistance animals, occupancy, and advice on how to minimize risk of violating the FHA. This subject area is related to the management and administration of community associations, and is intended to satisfy subsection 61E14-4.001(3)(e) of the Florida Administrative Code. The course will consist of three sections: Occupancy Restrictions (45 minutes), Accommodations for an Assistance Animal (45 minutes), and Minimize Risk (30 minutes). The course will cover two hours of continuing education requirements. This course is also offered as a four-hour course (combined with Part 1)

This course will provide a greater understanding of the impact the Fair Housing Act has on association policies involving criminal background screening, the possession of assistance animals, occupancy restrictions, and retaliation liability, as well as advice on how to minimize risk of violating the FHA.
Condominium Board Certification

The Course is specifically designed to educate community association managers focused on condominium associations on the law impacting association rule and policy making regarding budget and reserves, financial reporting, records, and contracts and bids. This subject area is related to the management and administration of community associations, and is intended to satisfy subsection 61E14-4.001(3)(e) of the Florida Administrative Code. The course will consist of four sections: Budget and Reserves (30 minutes), Financial Reporting (30 minutes), Records (30 minutes), Contracts and Bids (30 minutes). The course will cover two hours of continuing education requirements. This course is also offered the board members as a board certification course.
